Recently, Marisa Gonzales, a doctoral candidate, received a highly competitive research grant from the American Athletic Conference to support her dissertation, "'She's got the look': female student athletes' experiences with NIL."

Her project was selected from a conference wide pool by a panel coprised entirely of Faculty Athletic representatives from American-member institutions.
